Job Description

Job Purpose

Project Manager (MES) is responsible for the design, development and management of customer projects, according to defined Project Management standards and customer requirements, and with end-to-end responsibility for economic results, quality, schedule.

Project Manager (MES) will be measured on solutions revenue, profitability, innovation and customer satisfaction. He/she will manage project schedule within the given budget and to ensure quality standards are met.

Key Responsibilities

Responsible for management, leadership and the technical expertise required by the S&S (Solutions & Services) function. Holds key responsibilities in planning and implementation of customers’ projects. Also responsible for the maintenance and development of technical and commercial documentation required by projects and proposals. Responsible for the leadership and management of project delivery team(s) consisting of Lead Engineers, Project Engineers, overseas engineers (China, India, UK, etc), 3rd party vendors and Technicians.

DO

  • Analysis, feasibility assessment and design of customer’s project requirements.

  • Preparation of cost estimates and technical documentation for proposals.

  • Defines and documents customer’s functional requirements. Guides and plans efforts required to provide functional and test documentation for customer’s acceptance.

  • Maintenance and development of Solutions & Services project implementation and documentation standards, methodologies and guidelines.

  • Ensure quality, schedule and profitability of assigned projects.

  • Provide solutions knowledge transfer to Solutions & Servics project engineers.

  • Assist Systems & Solutions Business and Sales Managers in project pursuits and marketing initiatives.

  • Self-supervision with the ability to manage many tasks and changing priorities in a team environment.

  • Maintain good relationship with customers and proactively work to secure additional business.

  • Guide, plan, coordinate and implement system design / testing activities / system post-mortem and archiving activities.

Job Related Competencies

  • Proven ability to manage projects, consistently and successfully from design, implementation and project completion.

  • Intermediate level of understanding of industry knowledge in Chemical, Pharmaceutical, Food & Beverage and application knowledge.

  • Ability to develop opportunity pursuit strategies and lead pursuit of complex opportunities across multiple sales organization and companies.

  • Experience in system-to-system interface, such as ERP, WMS, MES, QMS, RTDB.

Educational Qualifications / Work Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or in a similar field of major.

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in a Project Management or a Project Engineering role.

  • Highly desired : PMP (project management professional) certified with a thorough working knowledge of all aspects of PMBOK (project management body of knowledge).
